Our purpose is to help our clients build wealth and find peace of mind by providing objective, personalized expertise and service. Our holistic approach to financial planning leverages portfolio management, financial planning, and life planning strategies.
Brown Wealth Management is a comprehensive, independent financial planning firm based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. We work on a fee-only basis and do not accept commission-based compensation. Instead, you pay us for the advice you receive. This means we are, first and foremost, your advocate. Most importantly, we dedicate ourselves to financial planning that is in your best interest.
Tim has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to forming Brown Wealth Management in 2002, he worked as an investment analyst, corporate banker, and consultant to the financial services industry with firms including U.S. Bank, Fleet Bank, and Deloitte Consulting. He also held positions in fixed income and equities investment analysis.
Tim received his bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He holds a rare combination of credentials, the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designations, and he is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF).
As a qualified professional in the areas of retirement strategies and investments, Tim has been a guest lecturer at the Carlson School of Management on the topics of investment management and retirement planning. He has also contributed to articles in publications such as Money, Kiplinger’s, StarTribune, Smart Money, Newsweek, Investment Advisor, and The Pioneer Press, as well as the book Just Give Me the Answer$. In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, Tim was named Five Star Wealth Manager by Five Star Professional in partnership with Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business magazine.
