Tim Brown has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He started Brown Wealth Management, an independent, fee-only, Registered Investment Advisory firm, in 2002. Prior to forming Brown Wealth Management in 2002, Tim worked as an investment analyst, corporate banker, and consultant to the financial services industry with firms including US Bank, Fleet Bank, and Deloitte Consulting.
Tim received his bachelor's degree in finance and accounting from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. Tim holds professional credentials, including the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.
Tim is a member of the CFA Institute, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, and the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce. His opinions have been sought and frequently published in publications such as The Pioneer Press, StarTribune, Money, Smart Money, Newsweek, Kiplinger's and Investment Advisor. He has also been named a Five Star Wealth Manager by Five Star Professional for 5 consecutive years 2013-2018 in partnership with Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business magazine.
Tim has lectured at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management on the topics of investment management and retirement planning.
Tim resides in Eden Prairie, is a member of Grace Church, and enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. In his spare time, Tim keeps busy staying fit, chasing after his kids in their various activities, and reading a good book.
