A fiduciary is bound by law to act in the best interest of the client and to provide objective advice. By working with a fiduciary, you’re ensuring that the advice you receive is based solely on your financial concerns. Only financial advisors who are Registered Investment Advisors are held, by law, to a fiduciary standard. At Brown Wealth Management, it is our fiduciary duty to act in your best interest at all times. As part of our fiduciary promise, we do not accept commissions on the sale of any financial product and we always act in good faith and never put our interests above our clients’. As a measure of this promise, we provide all of our clients with this commitment in writing.

There are different ways a financial advisor is compensated. The traditional model of compensation is commissioned based—meaning advisors get paid by insurance and investment companies when they sell you one of their products.  We believe that commission-based compensation creates a conflict of interest, which can lead to financial advice that creates high commissions for the advisor and is not always in your best interest.

At Brown Wealth Management, we do not receive commissions from any company for the sale of any financial product or investment. Our management fees are based on your investment net worth and deducted directly from your account. We are only paid by you, and you always know how much. Our clients are diverse with an array of backgrounds, ages and financial goals. We work with individuals and families, but also businesses and company retirement plans. We know that every client’s situation is unique, and we approach every prospective client with that in mind. While many of our clients are retired or approaching retirement, we’re committed to helping younger clients in the early stages of building their financial futures as well.

You won’t get caught in an automated system when you call our office—you’ll reach us. We believe that every client deserves personal attention. We provide customized financial planning and investment management, and we just don’t think these services are available in a large corporate environment where efficiency concerns trump personalized advice. Our independence gives us the freedom to focus on each one of our client’s unique financial needs because we work for you, not a big corporation.

We ask each individual who is interested in beginning a relationship with Brown Wealth Management to allow us the opportunity to review your current financial situation and to learn more about your goals and concerns. We do this by asking you to complete our Confidential Profile, which helps us to determine the best way that we can work together. We then invite you to a No-Cost Introductory meeting so that you can get to know us. We require that all financial decision makers be present for this initial meeting so that we make the best use of your time.
